Connect your accounts
Link your Stripe, bank, and payment processor accounts via read-only OAuth. Runway AI pulls your historical revenue and expense data automatically.
Describe your scenarios
Use natural language to define scenarios: 'What happens if I raise a $200K seed in Q3 and hire two engineers?' The planner models outcomes based on your actuals.
Review your runway
See projected cash position, burn rate, and runway under each scenario. Export to PDF or share with co-founders via a secure link.
Common questions
Does Runway AI require investment adviser registration?
No. Runway AI is internal business planning software, not securities advice. It models cash flow scenarios using your own financial data — similar to how tools like QuickBooks or Baremetrics operate. It does not recommend specific investments or securities, and it does not manage funds. For specific regulatory questions about your jurisdiction, consult a qualified attorney.
**Related context**: SEC and CFTC regulations apply to entities providing investment advice about securities. Internal forecasting for your own business operations does not constitute regulated investment advice.
How does Runway AI access my financial data?
Runway AI connects via read-only OAuth integrations with Stripe, Plaid-supported bank accounts, and other payment processors. Read-only access means the tool can read transaction history and balances but cannot initiate transfers or modify your accounts. You can disconnect any integration at any time from your account settings. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using AES-256 and TLS 1.2+.
**Supported integrations** include Stripe, bank accounts via Plaid, PayPal, and manual CSV import for other sources.
What scenarios can I model?
You can model revenue scenarios (new pricing tiers, enterprise deals, subscription changes), expense scenarios (hiring plans, contractor budgets, tool subscriptions), funding scenarios (SAFE notes, seed rounds, revenue-based financing), and hybrid scenarios that combine multiple variables simultaneously.
Each scenario is based on your actual historical data, and you can adjust growth rates, churn assumptions, and cost baselines per scenario. Models are saved and versioned so you can compare outcomes over time.
Is my financial data used to train AI models?
No. Runway AI does not use your financial data to train its AI models. Your data remains private and is used solely to generate cash flow projections within your account. We do not share your data with third parties, and you retain full ownership of all input and output data. For full details, see our [Privacy Policy] and [Data Processing Agreement].
What happens if my data changes after I create a scenario?
Scenarios use a snapshot of your data at the time of creation, but you can refresh any scenario with updated data with a single click. Runway AI will detect new transactions, updated balances, or changed subscription metrics and recalculate projections accordingly. Historical scenarios are preserved so you can compare planning assumptions against actual outcomes as time passes.
